Enjoy this free introductory app for an innovative series of art education apps that bring together quality content, interactivity, and virtual teaching artists to provide demonstrations and instruction in art activities related to the theme ‘Botanics’.

Experienced teaching artists have brought tried and tested methods, activities and ideas to the development of the Botanics apps so that anyone can have the resources to learn about and teach visual art to a range of age groups from pre-school to lower high school.

This free introductory app explains the underlying philosophy and format of the Botanics series of apps and includes sample videos, ideas for using the app in the classroom and a timeline of botanical imagery in art through the ages and across cultures.

Used in conjunction with any or all of the five Botanics apps that cover drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking and sculpture, this app provides a wonderful tool for making beautiful art works as well as teaching and learning about visual art with cross curriculum connections.

Designed for use with iPads, and in the classroom with smart boards and data projectors, the Botanics apps have been trialed with students from 5 – 18 in Australia and Asia with glowing recommendations from teachers and students.

REVIEWS
“Children from two organisations and in quite a wide age range spent two very happy hours with Fullarton and Free and their Botanics app. They learnt how to hold a pencil like an artist, they drew from observation and from their imaginations.  Timed drawing exercises and drawing without looking at their papers caused great excitement. And they were all thrilled with their final batik paintings.” Art Reach India
